Hi guys, anyone know how to find ID info on Gale motors? MY 12hp Buc, numbers are 12D15B-692952. Also would it be safe to assume that a J-rude carb kit or impeller for a 10-18hp would fit? Thanks for any help.

Re: 12hp Gale Buccaneer ID

Folks I have a GoodYear Tire Rubber Company engine made in Akron Ohio, model 25-3572 serial 536235. I bought it almost 10 years ago and thought it was a 12HP engine. I'm trying to get it running but am starting from scratch. Can anyone help me get more information on this engine? Thank you in advance.

Re: 12hp Gale Buccaneer ID

Your motor model number was made for two years, 1954 and 1955. It was made for Goodyear by Gale Products Division of OMC, in Galesburg Illinois. It is a Gale model 12D11G. Goodyear Tire Co was located in Akron, the reason for that location. Many, but not all, parts are the same as the Evinrude Super Fastwin 15hp. So, think Evinrude when looking for parts.
