Just got this 25hp Sea King a couple days ago has good compression and is in good condition. As expected it has no spark I have a 64 Sea King Boat in the same Red/White colors. I am in the process of gathering information about this motor. Here are some pictures if anyone and help me identify this and where to get parts manuals etc.. Model #GG8884A ser#06X783825

Thank you in advance:)

Re: My Sea King ( Gale ) 25hp outboard !

hi, go to this web page for parts identification
http://www.marineengine.com/parts/v...talog.html?http://www.marineengine.com/parts/
this is the parts catalogue i use for my 1961 gale bucaneer 25hp
if you go to www.isohunt.com you should be able to download the gale service manuals from there - i did !
also you will find that allthough gale manufactured the engines they are exactly the same as the evinrude and johnson engines as thy were ALL made by Gale and sold under other names !
also for genuine parts once you have a johnson model number, you will find every part you will ever need on ebay once you put inn the johnson/evinrude part number (occasionally you might get lucky using the gale part number)
if you can not get the manual to download then mail me and i will try to mail it to you

Thank you for the reply I went to isohunt but was unable to find them in search box. If you could send them to me that would be great....

Is the model number GG8834A? That's a 1960 25hp Sea King. You can buy a service manual and parts catalog for the motor online at http://www.outboardbooks.com/index.cfm/manual/GG%2D8834A/. The parts catalog will give you the OMC part number that you can use to order parts. Good luck with the restoration!

Go to Discount Marine web site;
http://www.discount-marine-parts.com/
Follow prompts on left side of page, Outboards
It will bring up the names of motors. click on Gale and
it will give You the history of Gale then Model/Year guides.
I think that Your motor is one of the best designs that Gale had.
Post pict's of boat and motor please.
Good Luck.

OP no longer visits the forum. Read the Help Tip on top of the page and start a new thread.

Also emailing and PM'ing defeats the purpose of the forum which relies on an open exchange of help and advice.
