Ive had some help on the getting to this point in getting outboard running and thanks to all for that. My next thoughts are what to do to recondition the engine to running and or while running. It has been sitting for some years but not long enough to have lock up of bolts and moving parts.
Things Ive done:
Ive put in new seals on lower and new impeller
Cleaned points and contacts.
Set gaps on plugs.
Some what rebuilt Carb.
At this point it runs but bit rough. Once its running should I let it idle through a tank to recondition pistons and rings? Is there any additives, or things to do to improve its condition or inhibit seizing? Sorry if these questions are trivial but its a nice engine and like to see it back in action.
