I think Gale was acquired by OMC in the mid thirties. I would try carefully prying on opposite sides of the flywheel to remove it while striking the other underside with a mallet. If you get too aggressive, you can bend the crank or the flywheel, so be careful.
Popped right off! It's got the guillotine points and coil of a TD series of the day, so I'm familiar w/it. The coil isn't leaking, so that's nice.
