1948 Montgomery Ward 5hp Sea King prop shaft and gear

Hi all, trying to help a bud out.Looking to replace the shaft and gear.Some shop tried to change the rotor ,didnt know how to get pump rotor out and damaged the gear and shaft..
Any ideas on where to get these parts?

Heh, it would be interesting to see how they did that. But anyhow, your only hope would be a parts motor. Try a free want ad on the Webvertize pages at the antique outboard club's website, www.aomci.org

Without knowing the setup to well I will try..I think the hub was stuck on the shaft, so somehow they removed the entire assembly and tried pressing it off somehow...They were pushing or pulling against a pin i think , wrecked the keyway and distorted the bevel gear..
Sad part is my bud was able to pull the hub off just fine after the fact to get to the rotor..I guess if he would have tried himself in the first place he may have been lucky..Rather than take a chance he figured ,take it to the pro's. oh well

defination of a Pro IS one who is a good guesser or ben there done that before lolo
