Goodyear Seabee 5hp coils are dry rotten

Someone gave me a Goodyear outboard, I never knew Goodyear even made one! Any way, everything is intact, it it may start with fresh gas, I haven't tried it yet because the coils are dry rotten and the wiring casings are flaking off. I'm afraid of coils shorting out, I won't be able to find replacements, the motor maybe as old as 1940's vintage, I'm not sure.
Does anybody have any idea what I'm dealing with here?!

Hi Supreme Mariner,
Thanks for the reply, I'll dig the motor out of my basement asap, and look at those coils again. I think they look like that 802371A1. You know, if I get that thing running I'll need a boat just as old to put it on! (if I really want attention at the boat ramp)
