My brother-in-law found this in an old house he had just bought. Having never heard of Goodyear outboards I took some pictures of it thinking I would give the guys on Iboats a surprise. When I did a search here I found out I was wrong. The outboard was given to a collector that my brother-in-law's son knew. He was glad to get it. A bit of history saved.

Looks like a little late 40's, early 50's Gale/OMC 3 hp (one cyl) or 5 hp (two cyls) made and badged for Goodyear stores. Get it running and post some pix.

I didn't remove any covers to find out how many cylinders it had but if I had to guess I would say one. I could pull the motor over so at least it wasn't locked up from rust.

As I said it went to a collector. I will tell my nephew to let me know if that collector he gave it to ever gets it running.
