Lo speed-3/4 turn out from lightly seated

See post #7 in <http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=195753> thread below for parts source contact info.

Expect bad seals in the lower unit.

Check L/U to see if it's still good before spending $ to get the engine running.
In my limited experience with the 'blue-collar' outboards by Clinton & Eska that use the same L/U it has been a snap to get the engines running well but the chintzy L/U is their Achilles Heel. Bad seals and ignorance their worst enemies.

Yep, I second this. These Lower Units get thrashed pretty easily. I find that even ones that are well worn, do okay if you charge them up with a good outboard lower unit grease, even if the seals are toast. Lubri-Plate 105 works good in these. If you see a lot of slop in the shaft though, you might be done for.

Model# K400 1106A

I'd like to find out the year this was made and possibly a repair manual.
