I and my fishing club have inherited and 1987 DT85 Oil Injection Suzuki 2 stroke outboad.
I can not get the engine to start up cold, but if I spray some quick start into the carb it will start right up and run fine. After worming up at @ 1000-1200 rpm it will stall with the startup lever in the full down positon and will not idel below @ 1000 rpm. Should idel at 650-700 rpm.
I am going to back out the pilot idel air screw and inject some carb cleaner and air blow it out and then try agian. This engine sat for 2 years and was not properly winterized for long storage, so I suspect that the idel air screw may be gummed up.
