I am new to the forum as well as new to outboards. I have a Volvo Penta 200 outboard that I am looking for information on (lower unit oil, parts, manual, etc.). Anyone with experience with these motors (rare in the US it looks like), I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks,
Sailor turned motor guy

Re: Volvo Penta 200 outboard

Are you talking about an actal outboard or an I/O (Inboard engine with an outdrive sticking out the back of the boat)?

Re: Volvo Penta 200 outboard only firing on one cylinder

It is indeed an outboard tiller motor. I just now took it out on a small lake for the first time and it is only firing on one cylinder. Since I don't have a manual and (as I said earlier) am new to this motor, can anyone offer help as to what I might check to see what the problem is?
I did pull the plugs and switch them. It is definitely the lower cylinder. I saw some advice about an old Johnson with the same problem and the replies said to replace the points and condenser.
Any help would be appreciated.

Since it's an outboard, I'm going to move it over to the Other Outboard Brandsforum.
