Champion outboard?

got some new toys today for 100bucks i got a 5.5 rude fisherman and a unknown "Champion" outboard...the guys just said it leaked fuel when he was out on the water...any info would be great...i want to get it going as a pond jumper motor.. 2k211980 is the serial or model number i found..

My info indicates the 2K was 4.2 hp produced in48,49,50,51-52.
Point gap is usually .018.You can use TCW3 rated oil at 3/4 pt to a gallon
I don't have the numbers to define the year.

Nice find...they usually are missing the side cowls, rear plug cover and all the front knobs. Yours is missing a stock knob...the fuel shut-off is from a Martin of the same era...as long as it works, right? This site has an owners manual on CD...www.acmeoutboards.com
The 2K is essentially the same motor as the 1J. Finding an impeller may be the trick...some had a metal impeller, others had a rubber impeller.
