I have a ted williams 9.9 the numbers on it are 217-5871-0 and the serial #3C 213743. It is a twin cylinder water cooled engine. Could you tell me the correct fuel/oil mixture to use and what year it is and any other available info? thanks

I can tell you it's a 1973 with an Eska leg and Tecumseh powerhead. I don't know the ratio, but I'd feel comfortable at 32:1 (4oz/gal).

What kind of oil is in the lower unit and how do you check it?

Re: Ted Williams 9.9 Fuel Mixture?

I pulled out my Owners Manuel for my Ted williams 7.5HP. Oil mix for this is 32 to 1. As for as the grease and lubes, as follows...Lubrication for gear housing SAE 90...Lubracation (General) Lithium Grease....Outboard motor oil should be of a 30 or 40wt per gallon. I also have the SEARS Catalog numbers but I doubt they are any good. Good luck
