hello, im helping a friend work on an outboard its a sea-king 3.5 model#vwb19068b serial#56x10511. we have the motor running but not sure of the oil ratio? 24:1 is what were using. also does this motor have a water cooling impeller in the lower unit? we are not sure if this thing should be pumping water out a port someware? any info would be a great help such as year made and the proper fuel to oil ratio. any tips on tuning would be great to we have to adjust the rich lean knob to throttle up or down to run smooth. is this normal? thanks, tom

Re: sea-king 3.5

Your motor is a 64/65 built by WestBend just about the time they were purchased by Chrysler.
The powerhead is air cooled and the exhaust leg is water cooled.Manual says there is a tube below the antivent plate that directs water from the prop wash to the upper leg to cool it.
No pump is mentioned.Fuel mix is 16:1 (8oz) per gallon. Most recomend Chainsaw 2 stroke oil for the aircooled motor. If no water is cooling the leg it will get very hot so you can probably tell how well it's cooling by just splashing water on the leg.
