cheaper replacement part

I have a 1979 chrysler 70hp. I think my coil is bad and is eating the cd modulators i have put in. is the a cheaper replacement coil for this. the part # on the coil is a motorola #70c44882b03. Any help on the subject would be great.

you can google how to ohm test your coils. its not difficult and know for sure if its your problem, Ive done it. You can remove the winding from you laments and buy new windings and install them on your laments yourself. I had to do that with some Wico coils on an old Firestone I restored.I used some evinrude ones I had. But I ohm tested them first to find out they were bad.

I did the ohm test and the coil is bad. (1) will a bad coil takeout the cd modulator?i have put 2 of them in. (2) is there a cheaper replacement coil out there? been looking and cant find a cross reference to the one i have. (3) what is the voltage for that coil?
