Hi!
I just acquired this Sea King outboard motor. There is no model number that I can find. Every number appears to be a casting ID.
I looked through a thousand pictures and can't find one like this. Searched for "Sea King" with "Gale", "Evinrude", "Kiekhaefer", etc.
Twin cylinder, decent compression, no spark (but I can fix it), carburetor looks repairable. I think I can get it running.
The decals are not readable. I have no idea which way the motor turns.
Thanks!
Dean

In the 40s I think they were made by Gale. F R is the king of Gales and other outboards hopefully he will point you in the right direction when he sees this post.

I missed the three posts before pictures rule. I side stepped the first one. Also dropped a photo.

That one is before my time. Most early Sea Kings were made by Evinrude. But some were made by Thor. So my best guess is that it is one of those, probably Thor.

Post your picture at the Ask-A-Member forum over at the Antique Outboard Club's website, www.aomci.org There will be somebody there that will recognize it.
