I believe it was also branded as a Scott Attwater.

I will try to pull the serial number on this motor tonight.

I haven't found anyone making new stators for these. Does anyone know of a source?

It's probably a good anchor weight, but the vintage of it is just so cool!

I restored a 1954 Firestone that was in sad shape and it turned out really nice. The Wico coils were shot so I took some Evin coils and replaced the winding into the old coils and new points and rebuilt the carb and it ran great. It was a Scott/Atwater. Coated the inside of the tank with red coat and had a great motor.

A serial number will tell us what brand of magneto is in your Scott. Then maybe we can give an answer.

That looks to be the stator style. We lost power yestersay so the garage was dark. I opted to make progress on my project boat.

I had no ideo there were other options so I'm excited. I'll try for tonight.

I couldn't get a good shot of the serial number

Nor of the motor for that matter.

That is not a 1950's motor. At least 1960 or newer. Sorry, I don't have any books on it.

Looks like a maybe a 63 model motor. Why do you think the stator is bad those actually have very good coils in them. A lot of those don't have the coil issues other outboards do. Points and condensors are available brand new. Coils are available all over ebay. If the other side of the hood has the fin on it and says mcculloch it is a 1964 or newer. If it says scott it is a 1960-1963. I have several of those motors they are good runners and waterpumps are also available new. Nice find on the non weedless lower unit.

The stator is definitely bad 😂😑😥

I was not getting spark and long story short the Stator has been mutilated.

Serial number is 63300750 1719
