The manual of my 1.2HP Tanaka (Sears Gamefisher) calls for 50:1 of TC-W (BIA certification) oil even though it is an air-cooled motor.
It is my understanding that air-cooled 2-cycle motors use API-TC oil (as they run hotter) and that TC-W oils are meant for water-cooled engines (as they run cooler).
Just wondering why the manual of this motor specifies a TC-W grade.
For the owners of similar motors, what are you guys running?

I'm not arguing their recommendations, just wondering why is it different from every other air-cooled 2 cycle motor.
