Got my 5hp Sea King running and out for the first time yesterday, runs like a champ. Question is the water coming out the impeller is spraying more than coming out in a spout like form, is this normal? And if this means a new impeller where can I find a new one?

May have found one that will work on ebay, not a fan of buying off ebay but I'll order it and see if it works

Are you saying the water is spraying out the exhaust relief on the backside about half way down? That is normal. Water being blown out by exhaust. Anyhoo, no need to go running off to that durn auction place for an impeller. Get a new one right here at iboats. Takes the same part as an Evinrude or Johnson.

It does more of a spray than say if you turned a faucet on. Not sure if that is bad or not, this is the first outboard I've owned. I always see a nice fountain like water coming out on most motors I've seen not like a mouthful of water been spewed out lol. Best comparison I can think of

That being said, the only impeller I can seem to find on here is the Evinrude 5 hp for 1965-1968. Will this impeller still work for my 62' 5 hp Gales Sea King?

When converting to Evinrude or Johnson, use the 5.5hp J/E models. But that's ok, same impeller 18-3001

You will also need a 18-2901 powerhead gasket, a 18-2892 seal gasket, and a 18-7180 o-ring to do the impeller job.
