I restored an old century resorter and put a new 4160 carb on it. The engine is an Chrysler 440. When I run it, it starts up and idles at around 1800 rpm. Do I need to turn this down. When I put it in gear, it seems like it takes off. Is there an adjustment or is that normal rpm for an inboard.

When you initially start it up, is the fast idle cam engaged? If so, punch the throttle a little to get it to come off that fast idle before doing any adjustments...
