Yamaha 454ci circulating pump

Does anyone know if you can put an automotive pump on a Yamaha 454. If so does anyone know what water pump replacement would be best for it. Boat will never see any salt water so I wouldn't think corrosion would be an issue.

Ayuh,.... Even in fresh water, the steel impeller of the automotive circulating water pumps tend to rust off,...

Get a Marine rated pump for a BBChevy,... it's worth the money for the cast impeller,...
