93 mariah with a 5.7 V8 yamaha I/O motor

I have a problem with my boat. I took it out on the lake.After about 2 hours been on the lake it started to over heat and smokin. Can anybody give me some hints on what might be wrong.

My Guess is,.... It started with a Bad Impeller,...
Now,.....
You're probably looking at some serious Damage,.....
Lack of water flow usually Burns Up all the rubber in the Exhaust system....

Is that something that is hard to replace and were is it located at on the motor

Factory manual time. Too hard to walk you through what the problems can be.

Face engine, bottom right pully is the raw water pump. Loosen alternator and remove double belt, align the two hole on the pully with the bolts behind holding the pump on. Six inch extension with 1/2 socket. Remove bolts, drop pump down, remove hoses and pull pump out.

Impeller is in outdrive, have to seperate the upper and lower units. replace every 2-3 seasons.

I think the Yamaha has the seawater pump on the engine.

Heck, I have a Mercruiser Alpha one with no impeller in the drive, I'd be careful dispensing advice without knowing the posters situation
