Any suggestions for troubleshooting the following? Was going forward, then in a panic, popped the gear in reverse because I was about to hit something, then lost my reverse completely. Later that day, I lost my forward and reverse. The engine starts up fine but the prop doesn't move. There isn't obvious damage to the inboard and outboard. Already have the service manuals on order to do the repair, but was hoping to get some suggestions for troubleshooting. Thx!

The Hydradrive is like an automatic transmission. Everything is performed by fluid pressure. I would first remove the rear cover on the outdrive and be sure the shift cable is moving the shift arm fully in both directions. Being the prop has no hub to slip, the clutches take the force of any hit to the drive train. This drive is still in production overseas and a very good drive. If the lever on outdive is moving fully, then you will have an internal problem. Never use synthetic oil in these drives, only Hypo 90.
