I am in need of a new manifold for my 5.7 crusader. I am having trouble finding the part, crusader part number 7151100. I can't not source this part anywhere. Most shops tell me its to old and they don't handle parts for this engine. It runs great, just has some rust and I would like to change it before it gets any worse. If anyone could please help me locate on or an aftermarket it would be greatly appreciated.

crusader is part of PCM and they still sell parts http://www.crusaderengines.com/

Bondo, Crusader was one of the early adopters of the dual alloy castings (brass for water passages, aluminum for air) for the marine market. they used Barr as the casting house for their intakes and exhaust

However per AD's post, I believe the 7151100 is an exhaust manifold

Sorry for the confusion, I am looking for the intake manifold. The issue is it is a 1986 which is the year of the change. I want to get another cast iron intake to replace the old one.

Ayuh,.... Hard to tell in the picture, But,....

Are the 4 center bolt holes on the same angle as the outer 8, or are the center 4, more vertical in angle,..??

If the 4 center bolts are the same as the outer 8, it's the old style,...
If the 4 center bolts are more vertical, it's the '86 to '96 manifold,....

Here is the 2506 new style, note the holes are more vertical as Bondo mentioned

Is it rusted thru, or just surface rust?

If its just surface rust, $3 worth of oxalic acid will clean it like new

No, the bolt in the thermostat housing broke off and we could not get an easy out to work. When drilling it, the housing got damaged. So here I am trying to find a replacement. I was hoping for the cast iron just because its cheaper, but that doesn't look to be available.

and you can't put a heli-coil in it to save those threads?

Take manifold to your local automotive machine shop and have them repair the broken bolt. They will put it in a bridgeport, mill out the bold, and helicoil the threads

I took it to the machine shop and he told me it would be to costly to make the repair and I should just purchase a new one.

Do you have pics of the broken bolt? I can't imagine it would be that expensive to fix.
