welcome aboard.

if I understand correctly, you used silicone around the ports with the gaskets? generally silicone is not used in conjunction with gaskets as the silicone fails.

as far as a clicking noise, you will need to diagnose it, use a mechanics stethoscope to find where its coming from.

Hi Scott,

this the answe rfrom Indmar: We didn?t use a gasket there we used high temp silicone around the exhaust ports to seal the manifolds to the heads,

Howdy

You have an Indmar 502. What year is the motor, even the model number will help

A small exhaust leak will sound exactly like a lifter tick. Replace the silicone with the proper gasket and I'll bet the tick goes away. Remember to clean both sufaces weĺl.
