1987 crusader 270 with Quadrajet Carbs. Carbs professionally rebuilt just over a year ago and until about 2 months ago operated great.

This happens periodically and I can't seem to find a common cause.

After sitting for about 12-24 hours no fuel is getting into the carb. Removing the flame arrestor, pumping the accelerator there is no fuel.
If I tap on the inlet or surrounding area it will start and run just fine. (Electric fuel pump works fine, actually new and tested at the carb with correct pressure)
Once running it runs great, no problem. This only happens after it sits.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Taping on the carb and she fires right up. If this is correct sounds like your needle valve is sticking to the seat. You could try getting come carb cleaner in thru the fuel line inlet, but carb cleaner is ruff on the needle valve rubber. So if you try this don't let it sit with it in the carb more then 10 to 15 minutes. Then pump the throttle/carb to get it out. Restart the engine and burn the rest out.

Other wise need to take the top of the carb off to get at it and clean it by hand.

Just my guess from what I'm reading
