What can I do to make the outdrive more reliable.
I always goes down but it doesn't go up.
I have replaced the motor and solonid.
It seems like it works when it feels like it.
1972 225 sterndrive electric shift.
Thanks, Rich

To be honest Rich - IMHO, something must still be wrong - weak current, trunnions need grease, lotsa' stuff to look at. Once I got my motor rebuilt, the thing actually works fairly well.

How is the clutch pack?

I haven't checked the clutch pack yet, what should I look for ?
I think it could be a weak battery I will check. The alt and batt.
Thanks, Rich

Just make sure you've got good lube in there. Nuthin' milky or gunky lookin'. Some guys take 'em apart and fill it with grease instead, but I've never torn mine apart. If you suspect the battery, I'd pursue that first.
