Should there be ANY water in the center of a exhaust manifold?
I am getting water in #2 cyl. And in oil.
Pulled the heads all gaskets good.
Put water in the logs the bottom hose let water in the center of the manifold.
Top hose did not let water in.
ARE THE MANIFOLDS BAD !!!
If so will the square manifolds work.
Thanks, Rich.

Did you check compression before yanking the heads?

If your getting water in the cylinders and the head gasket is good and all else checks out.
Then the manifolds are probably bad.
Yes the "square" ones will work but fitting them could be a problem.
A pic of the 'square" ones will help.
They made a bunch of different style manifolds.
With a few elbows and some hose you can probably make it work.
And you can't use PVC pipe to make an exhaust system. Some people think they can.
A guy I worked on his boat had made some changes.(I should have taken pics)
Turns out he wanted to change the sound and used PVC pipe and it was the real thin stuff and it melted and it filled up the bilge and sank.
