You really should get an OEM service manual. It will pay for itself ten times over. Its great even for simple things like changing the drive oil.
To change the drive oil you close the bottom drain plug and fill it from the middle plug with the dipstick open. You check the level with the dipstick resting on the threads (not screwed in). Then after you run the engine for a few mins you check the fluid with the dipstick screwed all the way in.
Dont forget to screw the dipstick in before you start the engine.
