Weight of a 1990 3.0 lt OMC Cobra

Can any one tell me the weight of a 1990 3.0 lt OMC Cobra. I'm considering swapping it with a AD 31 P-A volvo. The boat is 20 ft. The motor I found seems great but might weigh too much? It weighs with the drive 1100 pounds.

Not sure about the 3.0. With the drive... probably 500-600 lbs. Man if you get that diesel installed I want to see pics.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... I'm guessin' both the outdrive, 'n transom assembly don't weigh more than a couple hundred pounds,.....
So,....
The motor would be the balance of yer number,....

If yer puttin' in a diesel, you'll for Sure want the late model Cobra, the Volvo unit,...

The early models were dog-clutch shifted,....
No ignition to stutter with a diesel,...

DPDI is the model of the drive I'm led to believe. It will add about 500 pounds to the boat, quite significant. Fuel tank is up the front.

The transom cutouts are going to be different between the OMC transom plate and the Volvo transom plate. The DP-D, and the old 31 diesel is all Swedish design.

I'm aware of the transom difference, expecting to do quite a bit of work on it. The issue is the wait difference. At a rough calculation we're talking 500 pounds. The engine I'm thinking of has done 500 hrs since rebuild and is a steal at 5 grand Australian with drive I think. I work on the ocean and like the idea of the diesel set up.
