1987 OMC 4.3L Cobra

1987 Ebb Tide bowrider with a 4.3L OMC Cobra IO wont start. Starter cranks with no spark. I replaced coil, points, condensor, plugs, wires. Nothing! It wont start. No spark. What to check next? Help

Ayuh,.... Is there Power at the coil's (+) terminal,..??

Is the distributor properly Grounded,..??

did you also replace the rotor?

Check your fuses..If they are good put a jumper from the battery + to the + on the coil and check for fire from the coil. If you get fire then your Ign. switch or a broken wire could be suspect..

Sometimes the shift assist modual gets stuck in the detent mode and kills the spark?
Try unhooking the modual?
Or try shifting the handle.
Like Bondo sked is there voltage at the + side of the coil?
Coil HOT!!! to the touch?

Make sure you dont have the reversed polarity setup... meaning the ground is actually your positive. Then make sure you didnt get your wires swapped on the coil during replacement. Next, verify the ground wire on your motor is connected through and is not corroded. Now have your batteries load tested, you have power to crank but that doesnt mean you have enough to pop. Other than that its keyswitch, wiring connectivity, alternator functionality and possibly compression or timing issues. Ive had to work with all of these issues in the recent past. h
