We have a 1977 Searay 240 Sundancer 351 Ford-OMC.We have converted the mallory points distributor to Pertronix & are not getting 12V to the coil. Can we run a new wire from the ignition switch to the coil,or is there an shift interrupter circut we need to rout through?(allowing an engin stumble to move into gear).Where can I get a wireing diagram of the ignition circut? We were planning on eliminating the ballast resistor, any input on that would be helpfull. Thanks for the help guys!:

This doesn't make sense. Do you get any voltage to the coil? Normally, a lead goes from the ignition switch to the coil positive via the ballast resistor. For a Pertronix, the ballast resistor should be eliminated BUT you want to make sure you are using a coil that can handle the full and constant 12 volts.

There is no shift interrupt circuit on an electric shift stringer.
