omc pivot housing removal getting frustrated

I am tring to remove the pivot housing and I am unable to get my allen key in the side. how do I move it with out boat running power steering is locked? iam need to replace gimbal bearing, I am getting frustrated and about to just notch the housing to get to it

Try disconnect the steering linkage in the engine bay. U should be able to then move the housing.

good idea i will try that tonight. is it faily easy to access it to disconnect?

i cant turn the steering wheel. does this mean somthing is frozen?

Have you ever tried the steering before on this boat, running or not running? If so, when?

steering wheel should turn, regardless if the engine is running or not, it will be much harder without the engine running, but it will turn, if it doesn't.. you have bigger issues at hand

the cylinder shaft was a little corroted i lubed it up and it seems to be steering good now, i was afraid it might break somthing so i didnt want to force it tomuch. i aquired this boat for a song and a dance and i am taking as much precautions as possible before i start it up. other then sitting most things appear to be fine
