Mallory or Prestolite

Quick question- How can you tell if you have a Mallory or Prestolite ignition system on a 1987 Cobra 5.0 - Model number is 504APARY- It seems to list both for when I try to get parts..

if it's a Prestolite, the distributor will have a little tin tag right on the side of the body of it that says Prestolite

I maybe wrong on this, But the mallory cap has holddown clamps and prestolite cap is held on with screws. Again, its been awhile but this comes to mind.

I have a Mallory and mine has the screws, I had the whole distributor out and found the name on the side of the cap.

I found out by the name that was on that tin tag that Howard mentioned.

Do you guys have any recommendations on plugs/wires?
