OMC cobra top mount control swap out

Hey guys, in overtaking the Donzi restoration, I feel that the OMC side mount controls are rather dated. I want to upgrade to a top mount twin control (one for gear and one for throttle) Is such an option available for the OMC Cobras Circa 1988?

A few years ago I replaced the side control in my OMC 460 King Kobra powered Four Winns Liberator. (I also dumped the engine and drive too)

I removed the OMC control and replaced it with a Teleflex CH-1700 http://www.teleflexmarine.com/produ...anical-dual-action/ch1700-side-mount-control/

You can buy them everywhere. Including here on iBoats I think....

They also have top mount controls that are similar.

The Livorsi controls start at prices that are probably 3 to 5 times more expensive than Teleflex or other OEM style controls.

I did some more reading and since it is mostly an aesthetic issue, I may opt to wait a little bit and do this after the boat is completed. As of right now the side mount controls work great, as stated they just show their age. I will keep my eyes out for a good deal on some Livorsi controls though... they look awesome!
