Hi everyone:
My grandfather passed away a few years ago and left behind a 1969 Evinrude Sportsman 155 boat. Well it is now time to do some upkeep on the classic. I can always remember him saying the engine in this boat was a v-6 Buick and I know the out drive is an omc. I am trying to find out what size this engine is, what weight and amount of oil and some basic specs etc on it. If anyone can tell me where to go for this information it would be awesome.

Re: Evinrude Sportsman

Welcome aboard:: I have a 96 Explorer and it has the same motor, They have a 255 cid buick/jeep eng. i use 10/30w oil 4 1/2 qarts when you change filter,I use a oil-pump that goes down the dipstick hole to change the oil. if you have electric shift it is prob. a Stringer outdrive lower unit takes 80/90w marine lube. If you poke around the other posts here you can find tons of info on your boat. if you take a look at my post "mystery hole in sterndrive" in reply #4 there are two links that are great. I have found two or three wiring dig. as well. Good luck with the boat..
