OMC throttle control tensioner

Hi all,

For my kicker, I am installing a "new for me" OMC control, which looks exactly like the one in the picture. Before the installation, I took it apart, and greased everything liberally, including locations (1) and (2) in the picture... Now the arm will not stay fixed after the throttle adjustment.

It looks like I need to remove the grease and tighten at least one of the marked bolts. Does anyone know which one should be cleaned and adjusted? Just want to do it right the first time, any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Alex

Number 1 should have no grease. The tension is adjusted from the other side when control is installed in the boat.

Thank you, that' exactly what i need to know! I was thinking about applying some special "friction" grease, made by Shimano for reel drag
washers, but it looks like no grease will work as well.
