Can someone point me towards the write up on how to wire the shift interrupter switch like a merc? I have installed the Pertronix ignition in my 1989 5.8 OMC and of course I started having issues shifting out of gear after an hour on the lake. I would have to let the boat idle around for a while in forward and then it would shift normal again - it was a fun time trying to get it into the dock.
I did make up the circuit as shown on the Pertronix website but I did not install it because it was shifting fine in the driveway - imagine that. I would rather wire the switch like a Merc if possible.
