4.3L OMC Cobra Alternator

Can I use an automotive alternator on this engine or am I better off sticking with the marine alternator?

You can do what you want but I think most on here will advise to go with the marine version. Not sure of the specific differences but it has alot to do with electrical sparks in a closed area in proximity to a flammable liquid.
