Hi all, I've pulled many automotive engines but this is my first marine engine I'm replacing. I'm guessing that the intermediate housing comes out with the engine as a unit and then separate it from the engine after removal? I can see two large mounting bolts and nuts, is that all that holds it back to the transom? Also should the outdrive be in the up or down position or does it matter? Thanks.

Pull the out drive off - 2 back bolts at the back of transom assembly. Bolts at side engine mounts - water supply line - electrical plug - fuel line - negative cable - positive cable - and that's it - easy - probably 2 hours if it's your first time less that an hour if your a champ!
