OMC 4.3 1989 OIL CHANGE.

This will be the first time I do a oil change on this boat.
Is it just the engine oil, or is there also other parts that need oil or lube changed??

I heard the outdrive also needs a oil change.

Stern drive will need it's lube changed, but I don't know how it is done (specifically) on a Cobra.

When you change the gear oil on the Cobra drive, make sure you follow the instructions carefully. It is filled differently than other brands of drives. It is filled from a middle fill hole. Not from the bottom like other brands. Filling it from the bottom can destroy your drive.

Engine oil you will need to use a vaccum pump, with an adapter to connect to the garden hose threads on the oil dipstick tube. The oil filter can be hard to reach depending on your access, I use cap wrenches that fit the filters I'm using. Used to use the long Sierra ones, those have been replaced by a shorter model, same with Merc/Quicksilver.
