Omc 5.8 efi

My 5.8 starts when turning key to start as soon as I let off the key it dies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it started and running? Or is it just winding (grinding away at the starter)?

If not on the throttle, whichi don't thin it is, go to auto parts store and spend four buck on a new switch

It would fire right up and on letting off the key it would stall gauges werent working either. Found a purple wire with a loose terminal at the key switch. Replaced that and all is well. Thank you for the replies.
