Hi,
so in a 1995 OMC 302, which oil best to use? Engine just has been rebuild, no only has like 6 hours on it with a brake in oil.
The original manual states to use W30 oil and to stay away from the multi grade 5w-30 or 10w-30 oils
Of course the local auto parts store does not carry anything W30 any more, they said that was gone years ago from their stock.
So what to do? Just shop on-line and get overpriced W30 and live with it... or...?
What do you guy run in yours?
Thanks

I run 15w40 (diesel oil). You can run straight 30 weight

You are not visiting the correct stores for oil. Any farm store will have straight grade oils and it is cheaper than multi-viscosity.

Thanks for the advice guys. Don't know many farm places around here as never had to look.
Actually after some more digging around found 30W Shell Marine oil on Amazon of all places :)
It was good price and quick delivery, so I'm all set.

The most widely available marine oil is the Merc 25/40, any marine store will have it. You can use Pennzoil Marine 15W/40 or the same grade from Chevron or Shell.
