So this boat (1987 Crestliner Nordic - 2.5L Mercruiser with OMC Cobra outdrive) has been quite the source of my frustrations for the past month or so. It has a mercruiser 2.5L engine with an OMC Cobra outdrive. I finally have the engine all figured out and dialed in (thanks to you guys here). Now my problem is that I seem to have water getting into my outdrive unit. I left the muffs on the outdrive over the weekend at the shop that I work at. I came in tonight to do one final check and to take it out and do some long awaited fishing. Upon my inspection of all fluids, when I removed the muffs from the outdrive unit I noticed gear oil coming out of the "**** hole" on the outdrive right next to the water intake vents and my fluid on the dipstick is milky. My question is, would that be something caused by one particular seal going bad or could there be a variety of things going wrong? Thank you in advance!
