I have a 1990 Doral with a 5.7 OMC cobra.

Just recently I have noticed that while going very slow or at 2800 rpm's the engine seems to stall for a second, almost like it is misfiring. It seems to be a fuel issue but it only happens for the split second and then has power again and might happen again 5 mins later.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here.

Thanks so much!

Welcome aboard!

Well, by your description, It sounds more like ignition.

Now, having said that, if you haven't replaced fuel filters and you're running 2 year old fuel, I would take care of that..........

Otherwise, an intermittent misfire with an OMC Cobra is sometimes related to the ESA and/or wiring/switches if the rest of the ignition components are working ok.

Poor connections anywhere in the ignition system including the ground connections can also produce intermittent problems like this.

Thanks so much Rick, Gas is fresh, fuel filter was changed 2 years ago.

Could it also be moisture in the gas?
