The Lund S14 I used to have would most likely support the weight just don't know how much it would make it sit down farther in the water. These size boats can be quite weight sensitive.

Thanks for the replys, I was not surprised that it may not be such a good idea on a 14, oh well I can always install oar locks (I think)

I have run 2 motors on the back of my 14 footer with no signs or problems at all. I would not worry about it at all.

What's the issue with this Boston Whaler clone, transom stress, overpowering with heavy engine, run under a piling pier ?

1st guess would be a rotten transom with any engine on it.

The answer is : all 3 apply + a fourth one, boater lost 40HP engine while smashing it under pier, was not properly secured to transom. There are always cracy boaters doing idiotic things while at maneuvers with terrible and costly consequences...

30 years ago I saw one that really made me laugh. There was a nice restaurant on the river where we lived which had piers and a nice cement seawall. The one morning when we went there we found a 30' Owens cruiser parked at the pier with 3' of it's bow deck up over the seawall. Must have hit forward when they wanted to go in reverse or they came into the dock too hot. Boat sat there a few days and have no clue as to how they recovered it.
