Top Speed - What is the top speed you have reached with you 20 hp motor?

i was wanted to see some top speeds from 20 hp motor.

I have a 1977 Merc 200 with 11" prop, pretty much the same motor as the video. On a 14' aluminum semi-v runabout (console steering) it'll do 24 MPH.

With the little tunnel hull he has, I think 31 MPH is possible.

1989 20hp johnson on a 14 foot aluminum springbok made in 1959 with a 10x15 3 blade prop did 27mph gps clocked.

the johnson is a 2 stroke running 50:1 oil ratio.

About 30 years ago I raced a B stock Hydro (now called B classic hydro)- 20H merc with a corn popper. My best was 48 mph, and the fast guys where about 5 mph faster.

The original 18 that the 20 is based on was rated for 27 mph in the brochure.
Are 18 on a 15 ft kit boat usually ran 24 or 25 but on one occasion down wind and down current it did indicate 27 on speedo.
It was stylish and fast for its size.
