I just replaced water pump and lower gear shift cable. Just learning but all went well. Boat now shifts into forward neutral and reverse under muffs without stalling. Thunderstorm prevented trip to the lake this afternoon. Question is, under muffs I am circulating water but also some water is coming out the prop area under 2000 plus rpms When less no water. Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal to have water out of both bypass ports and prop. At lower RPMs, and especially before it gets up to temp, it may only put out water from the bypass ports, or even just one of the bypass ports. Per Merc, you don't want to run on muffs over 1500 RPM.

Remember the exhaust runs down and out the prop....water is circulated in the area to provide cooling....
