Whats a good product to remove grease from outboard. I want to paint the cowling and lower unit of my motor and there is excess grease on it from greasing the fittings.

Re: removing grease

Spray it down with Gunk engine degreaser and then hose it off after it has time to work. Wipe everything down until it is clean. Repeat the Gunk treatment if it is still dirty after the first go round.

Purple Power is a good strong detergent/degreaser....Walmart carries it for about $5/gallon...

Any of the above will work. For the final step, wipe it down with acetone before shooting it with acid etching primer.
