1964 Johnson 5.5 CD-21 How Much Oil in the Lower Unit?

Can someone please tell me how much oil I need to put in the lower unit/gear case on my CD-21?
I do know until it comes out the top hole, but how much is that?

This is my first post, and thank you all for the great forum, I have spent hours, and learned so much.
Somehow I can not find this info, even in some of the online manuals, the 1964 is a little scarce..
I assume it is the same as the earlier models, but never assume.

If you are new to this, go to your local marina, tell them you are doing an oil change, and ask to put together a package for you to do this. Make sure you change the seals.

What would be in the package? I went to a very reputable Johnson dealer, and he sold me a 10oz tube of lube.
Are you speaking of the drain and top screw seals?

Meaning the oil seals on the drain/fill plugs.

You'll drip a little, plus you can't get every last drop out of the tube. You need a second tube.

Hello All:
OK, got the oil changed, got the little white seals replaced, 48 cents each, awesome!
The 10oz tube made it to the full hole with some folding and squeezing.
Good Feeling to get that done and done correctly.
Thank you to all of you who shared your advice and knowledge. This is going to be great.

I am now changing the water pump impeller.... but that is a different forum.

Don't you have to drain the oil before you pull the impeller?

No. Don't need to drain the oil.

+1. No need to drain the oil to install the impeller. That would be a pretty wacky design. They're two separate systems. This link may help.
