No, you can't run a 20 inch shaft off a 25" transom.

Twin 70's on that boat would be marginal. A single 150 or 175 would be much better

+1 Twin 70's are NOT 140 HP. They are about 100. Not to mention, wrong shaft length leads into other issues you don't need.

If you do a lot of off shore twin motors are nice in the event of a break down. But they can increase the odds of a break down.
Twins add complication and weight, will use slightly more gas than a single of the same hp and will be slightly slower than a single of the same hp.Depending on the year twin 70s would weigh about 650 A 150 420. The year and model could change those numbers considerably.

Ok well understood, where are some places that i cn find a used or rebuilt motor,i live in Pennsylvania, and also would rebuilt be better than used?? I always like johnson and evinrude cause they are easy to work on,but what other makers of outboard motors make good reliable motors,I once owned a Tohatshu motor that was very very reliable, fast and very good on fuel,it was even one of the quietest motor that i ever owned at wide open throtle, but any help to lead me in the wright direction, funds are limited!!!1
